Recipe from Depression Era Recipes by Patricia Wagner

Ingredients:

1 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 C cornmeal
¾ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 ½ c sour milk
2 tbs brown sugar
¼ c lard

Recipe:

Sift together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Beat the eggs well and add milk and melted lard and sugar. Stir together liquid and dry ingredients: gently fold in cornmeal, stirring only until just mixed. Bake in a well greased pan at 425 f for about 25 minutes or until done.
