Sourdough Hot Pockets
This recipe is from my experimentation with adding sourdough to some of my favorite recipes.
1 ¼ C flour, plus more for kneading
½ C milk
½ C sourdough discard
6 tbs butter, cold and diced
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp baking powder
1 egg whisked with sprinkle of water
Combine the salt, baking powder, and flour. Cut the butter in.
Add the milk and sourdough discard.
Knead until moderately sticky dough forms.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out and cut into 8 rectangles.
Fill 4 squares with the desired filling, then add another rectangle of dough on top, and seal edges with a fork.
Brush the hot pockets whisked egg and water and garnish with a mixture of parmesan, oregano and garlic powder.
Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes.
Allow to cool before scalding your mouth.
